STRATFORD W.D.F.U.

SUCCESSFUL "BRING AND BUY."

Brisk and successful business was carried on at the "bring and buy" stall at the social afternoon held by the Stratford branch of the W.D.F.U., in St. Andrew's Hall yesterday.

There was a good attendance. The function was very satisfactory from a financial viewpoint, business at the stall being brisk. The provincial president, Mrs. J. Cocker, Eltham, and the secretary, Mrs W. H. Young, represented the Taranaki executive of the division.

Many donations were received for the stall, which was managed by Mrs Paynter and Mrs. Bayly. A sweet stall was conducted by Mrs. Cleland. Competitions arranged by Mrs. Burton were won by Miss Belcher and Mrs. Ross. Mrs H. Cleland won an iced cake. Songs were contributed by Mrs Wright and Mrs. Davis, and Miss Belcher recited.
