Sayers, and the South Taranaki Automobile Association, for the control of parking in the earlier part of the evening. “What about a spot of tobacco?'* he enquired as he blew into a Wanganui weed merchant’s shop the other j morning. “Well, what about it?” j smilingly demanded the boss, “which is it to her—mild, medium or full?” j “Medium’s the ticket, and if you smoke medium yourself give me the same brand, then it’s bound to bo 0.K.” “Can do!” laughed the to-bacco-man, “t smoke toasted New j Zealand—Navy Cut No. 8.” “Sez you!” remarked the customer, “well, let’s have a hundred-weight—or—l mean two ounces, of your favourite blend—it is a blend, eb?” “Sure,” said the tobacconist, “and about, the best I know of. That’s why I sajoko it myself. There’s no ‘bite’ in it. The toasting sees to that. And believe me it’s good!—one of the five toasted brands; Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog), I Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead), Cav- ( endish, Riverhead Gold, and Desert j Gold.” “If it’s as good as you say,” ! declared the customer, “You’ll see me again.” “Then it’s au revoir, but not good-bye,” said the tobacconist, with a grin.
