Thomas Ebenezer Robinson, licensee of Tattersall’s Hotel, pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to a charge of knowingly and wilfully allowing the private bar of his hotel to be used as a common gaming house. The prosecution followed Rhe conviction of a barmaid, Helen Gunn, who ten days ago was lined £4O and ordered to pay costs for using the private bar at the hotel as a common gaming house. Evidence for the prosecution stated that Robinson was present when Gunn took bets. This Robinson in his evidence denied. Decision was reserved.
