CHRYSANTHEMUMS AND AUTUMN FOLIAGE
LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES
! Chrysanthemums of every variety j and colour filled th e Town Hall j today with a profusion of colour j when the annual display of the St. ; Andrew’s Chrysanthemum Club j was held. Decorative classes for ! other varieties of flowers and I autumn foliage as well as classes j ior vegetables, cooking and sewj ing all drew record entries to ; make the show one of the most j successful ever held. j An attraction that was both novel j and interesting was the baby show, j for which a large number of entries j were received. The show was officially | opened by the Mayor, Mr. J. W. Mei Millan. | The points prize cup for the ama- ■ tour chrysanthemum class was won j by Miss M. Wright and Mrs. Webber | won the Chrysanthemum Club Cup for I most points in the local classes. Most j points for floral decorations was se- | cured by Miss J. Hunter and in the ! cut flowers Mrs Coldwell secured most • points. Mr. C. Rogers led the pot i plants section and Miss 0. Bring was 1 outstanding in the needlework division. Mr. F. Jans had no difficulty in securing the points prize for farm and garden produce. The prize list was as follows: CHRYSANTHEMUMS AMATEUR CLASSES Twelve distinct varieties; Miss M. Wright 1, Mrs H. H.
