“ MEETING OF COMMITTEE SCHOOL GLASSHOUSE TO BE DISMANTLED 1 The annual meeting of the Stratj ford primary School Committee was j held last night when there were pres j ent Mr. J. Morrison (chairman), Mrs j P. Thomson, Messrs. A. Ferguson, P. ! T. AUkeu, H. F. Vosseller and L. J. j Funic (ncuamustei ). No election was j required as the committee was elect- ! eel tor a term of two years. | Mr J. Morrison was re-elected chairj mau. j A communication was received from I the Windsor Park Society stating that i they would not be able to make use of j tne school glasshouse, j “That leaves us where we were,” ! said Mr. Morrison, j Mr. Ferguson suggested that the ; glacoaoiiso oo dismantled and the tool i shed rebuilt in its place. It was reI solved that this be done, j Tno report of the visiting commitj tee stated that the. concrete kerb and ; l cnannel between the cycle shed and j ! the gate had been completed. The j j gateway leading to the tennis courts | needed attendance and a concrete I i ramp was suggested. The spouting on | i the south side of the main building j j had developed several leaks, which | i would have to be attended to before | ! the winter. The grounds generally | j were in good condition as was the in- ! I tenor of the school. j j A grounds committee comprising j | Messrs. A. Ferguson, J. Morrison, P. I | T. Aitken and H. P. Vosseler, was set j jup to submit a report to the next j ; meeting in regard to'improvements to t i the ground. I j The dental nurse, Miss B. Mackay, ,
j reported as follows for March: Total ! extractions 54, fillings 454, operations ! 564, attendances 201, completions 131. 1 Schools attended were; Stratford, Ta.l. riki. Midhirst and Stanley Road, i King’s Jubilee i A communication was received from | the Taranaki Education Board advia- ! ing that Monday, May 6, was to be re j garded as a full holiday at the school | to celebrate the silver jubilee of His I Majesty, the King. The letter suggestI ed that on Tuesday, May 7, the teachI ers should explain to the children the 1 significance of the occasion. The sum j of £8 13s 4d was paid into the comI mittee’s account to aid with the cele- | bration by an entertainment which I could be held on the following Friday, ! K suitable.
