When the Wellington launch Kereru. ■ now named Charlie's Aunt, was driven j ashore at Palliser Bay by a southerly ! gale last June the owner, Charles Henry ! Allan Bustard, was not aboard and did j not know she was being used on {he voy- 1 age. To-day in the Magistrate's Court ] he claimed £B7 from Arthur Woolf, to j whom the key:; of the launch had been j given and who was on board at the time j of the mishap, alleging the launch had j been taken unlawfully and withcul auth- j crity from the boat harbour. Mr. E. i Page, S.M., awarded £7O and costs. j Bustard said the keys were given in j order to pump the boat out and there j was no mention of Woolf's using it. Woolf had some repairs done, but later ; when Bustard had the boat stripped 18 j ribs wore found to be broksn and the • engine and keelson to bo loose. j Wooif said he was definitely instructed j lo use and look after the boat and keen it in running order. He considered him- | self justified in taking a day's voyage in it. :
