LONDON’S PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS 10,000 TO BE LAID DOWN (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, Nov.- 10. Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, Minister of Transport, has decided to set aside the advisory ' committee’s recommendation that work on pedestrian crossings in London, including laying down studs in the roadway, should be discontinued, pending a consultation. Mr. Hore-Belisha says any alteration must '■ inevitably confuse the public. He intends to adhere to the plan of laying down 10,000 crossings. The Minister has ordered the London scheme to be extended to the rest of the country.
