A programme of many contrasts was carried out' by the 'Duke of Gloucester to-day. Beginning with an address to cadets at Flinders Naval Depot, the Duke visited the Commercial Travellers'''Club and had conferred upon him the honour of "Knighthood of the' Road." His next visit was to the conference of the Empire Service,League, where he was welcomed by men from all corners of th< Empire to whom he conveyed greetings from, the Prince of Wales. The message said that no pa'rt of his»tour in 1920 conveyed such happy memories as his meeting with the service men of Australia and New Zealand.

The next engagement was at the polo matches at the Moonee Valley racecourse. After luncheon with the officials, the Duke watched the games 'for four hours, returning to attend the State Government's garden party. Later ,there was a brilliant inaugural dinner for the hew Lord Mayor. . . . ■'
