METHODIST TENNIS Petrie Shield Won The animal report of the Methodist. Tenuis Club which will bo presented tp th- animal mooting on MoiuTay night states that the club opened for the season on October 15. Opening day took the form of a tournament, president v. vice-president, and this function proved a gnat success, a large number being present, including members from other clubs. The c'ub started the season with a good membership and during the year this was added to. Two teams, an A and » I! team, played several matches during the season. The A team won all of i's 13 matches' played, while the 15 team won [> of the seven it contested. The shield donated by Mr J. Petrie, Stratford, to be competed for between junior p'jvycrs was won by the Methodist Club's A team, after playing matches: between Stratford, Midhirsi and ('■•'•Mt'l'. The Methodist team was 1111 beaten in this series. Ladder nuil(.'hos proved very popular, these creating much enthusiasm among the players.
