MAN KILLED

Two Women Injured HORSE FLOAT AND CAR COLLIDE Press Association—CJcni-r'ebt Christchurch. March 11. An accident involving the death of a man and serious injuries to two women occurred 2\ miles north of Ashburton on Saturday evening, when a motor horse float and a motor-car collided. The float was driven by Walter George Ervines, motor mechanic, Christchurch, and contained also Mrs. Steel, Spreydon, Christchurch, and three men besides three horses. The car was driven by James Lott, contractor, aged 37, Amberley, who was accompanied by his wife. The impact was so great that the car was forced back some distance before the float overturned, Lott being killed instantly, while Mrs. Lott and Mrs. Steel were injured, the former about the head and the latter on the body. The car was completely wrecked. The two women are progressing favourably in hospital.
