Three hundred, including British and American people, and thirty children are isolated in the village of Beuil at an altitude of 4770 feet, where they went ski-ing on Sunday. All approaches are blocked with ice and their food is exhausted. Many are sleeping in cowsheds and there are no medical supplies. The isolated people are suffering intensely and an attempt to succour them will be made with an aeroplane fitted with runners and carrying a doctor and food. A number of the 300 s'k-iers was rescued by army tractors which were called in to release motor cars on the frozen road. The rest of the marooned are awaiting the French Alpine soldiery, who are making their way to Beuil on skis.
