BAYLY FURTHER REMANDED ON MURDER CHARGE Press x\ssocialion —Copyright. Auckland. Jan. 3. William Alfred, Bayly. aged 28. farmer, of Ruawaro. was today again remanded, until January 10. on a. charge of murdering Mrs. Chrstobel Lakey. When the police applied for (ho remand Mr. Lusk, who represented the accused, said; “In view of the .fact that it is three months since the body of Mrs. Lakey was found and over four weeks since Bayiy’s arrest. I think these repeated remands are unreasonable, and I would like some definite date for the hearing to take place.” ‘ The Magistrate,. Mr. Wyvern Wil. son: Do you want to go on today. Mr. Lusk? “No;' but I should like it to go on as soon as possible,’’ Mr. Lusk replied. He pointed out that the Supremo Court session would begin early in February. The Magistrate: I don’t think you will be prejudiced in that dirction.
