.• ( MR.',j WILLIAM FORRESTER j *i■ ■ | ; The - death occurred at his home m i Dunedin of, Mr. William Forrester, who was, well known to most of the oldjer residents of the city. After studying lavy as a young man in Glas\yherp. .lie ,y r as born. Mr. Forrester suffered from failing health, and decided to come to New Zealand. Arriving, in Dunedin in. 1822, he, reentered the legal profession, and was later associated with Mr. W. Downie Stewart, M.P*. -as accountant and managing clerk in • the .firms ..of Messrs.’,'Stewart, Holmes and Dennigtod/ ajidr.'Messrs. Downie -Stewart toil Payne. He; retired some 20 years agO< Mr. Forrester took a keen interest in bowling, being one of the early champions -of the Dunedin Club, and later was one of the founders of the Kaitua-.Club, of which he was made a life member some years ago,, Mr-. Forrester was for many years a member and office-bearer of St. Andrew’s Church. His wife predeceased faimj 16 years ago ,and he is suruvived by one son. Mr. W. F. Forrester, of Dunedin. ■■ # . MR. A. A. CAMERON A message from Masterton reports the death at his home. “Pahauliaii,” To Ore Ore. yesterday of Mr. A. A. Cameron, a prominent Wnirarapn sheepfarmer. The late Mr. Cameron who was 69 years of age was burn at ..Waiwetu, Lower Hutt and went to Masterton in 1883, purchasing I lie “Pahauhau” property. which lie farmed- successfully to the time of his.i death. In his young days be was a tine athlete, being noted for bis prowess as a runner, walker and footballer. He was always a keen follow, er of horse racing, and was a steward .of the Masterton Racng Club for many years. He also owned and raced a number of horses with a good measure -of.; success. Bradney ‘Williams. formerly of Dunedin, 'Christchurch and Wellington, and one,;, of , the founders and first vice-presidents of the Canterbury Womeh’s Club, states a Press Asociation message from Tauranga. Mrs. Williams was a member o'.' the committee of the Navy League at Wellington and a founder of the Seatoun brunch-of t-he Women’s National Reserve.
