ALTITUDE RECORD RECOGNISED

Press Association— Copyright. Romo, Doc. 30. The Italian Aero Club has recognised the altitude record for single-seater planes not exceeding 9221 b in weight claimed by Furio Niclot on November 28, when he reached a height of 32,834 feet. The previous holder was the German, Waldemar Voight, who ascended to 26,712 feet. While Niclot was attacking the world record altitude the respirator failed at 9000 metres. He suffered haemorrhage and became unconscious. The aeroplane dropped like a stone to 1000 ft., where Niclot recovered. Ho landed safely.
