Cricket at Cardiff CLUB HOLdTmEETING Satisfactory arrangements hud- been made in respect o£ til© ground ;it was reported at a meeting of the Cardiff Cricket Club. It was. decided, that two pitches be prepared. The " question of appointing a grounds committee was "discussed. Finally two members of the committee together with two club -members were appointed for ieach week. Consideration of the invitation of the Tuna Cricket Club for a match at Tuna during the weekend was held over for three weeks, as it was felt that further practices were needed. Mr. H. Millar's suggestion of the use of nets for practice was adopted, and these are to be erected by mem. bers in the weekend. It was decided that all members be given at least ten minutes' practice at both batting and bowling during the next two, weekends. ■- TENNIS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Cardiff Tennis Club wast well attended. The balance sheet disclosed a credit of! £2. \ In his annual report the president, Mr. H. Limmer, stated that the- past season had been a successful one. The membership had Remained constant and all members had availed themselves of every opportunity for play. As a' result there had been a marked improvement in the standard of play. The ladder and button matches showed a marked improvement, most noticeably in the combined button matches. Commenting upon the small balance Mr Limmer drew members' attention to the number of improvements, some of which had not been provided for at the previous annual meeting.- The committee had seized the opportunity of obtaining cheap labour for felling trees on the back fence, fencing the shelter trees, levelling and grossing the back areas, removing bankss, erecting iiew netting at the southern end, staying all the matting posts and marking the court in aluminium. The club captain stated that although the teams had riot always been victorious in the 14 matches played the experience . members had gained would be reflected in their play during the coming season. The election of officers' resulted: President, Mr. H. Limmer; vicepresident, Mr. L. Wickham; secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. Redshaw; conu mittee, Messrs. Hawkes and Millar, Mesdames R. Smith and E. Wisnew. ski, Misses C. Rayner, B. Shannon and G. Horn; club captain Mr. H Limmer; vice captains, Messrs. R Winmill and C. Hawkes, Miss C- RayThe subscription will; be 3s 6s for ladies and 10s for men.
