Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Electric Power Board was held at Eltham yesterday, the chairman, Mr H. G. Carman, presiding. Engineer's eßport

The Resident Engineer, Mr B. H. Goldsmith, reported for the month as under:— 1

The number of consumers at August 31, 1933, wa3 2223. Units generated during the month totalled 957 000. The largest daily output was 32,800 units on Saturday, the 19th. The maximum demand of 1728 k.w. occurred on eight days. Installations connected during ' the month were as follows, figures for the corresponding period last year being given in parentheses:—Milking motors 9 (19); other motors 16 (6); stoves 3 (17); water heaters 6 (13); pumps 5 (G); light and heating (new) 8 (8); light and. heating (add) 22 (25).

Work is proceeding steadily on the Inglewood . sub-station structure, and alterations in the vicinity, necessary for the commencement of supply to the borough on the first of next month have been made.

A very complete overhaul has been carried out of the main north feeder from the end of Kupara Road to Tariki township, and an additional airbreak switch has been installed at the Tariki —Kaimata Road corner. Finance

The bank and finance statement reads as under: —

Cr. last meeting £857 4s. Receipts since: Goods £73 16s 2d, current £IB9B 4s 2d, installation £99 6s 6d, interest £S 14s 7d, loan interest refund £747 4 9d, rates 1930-31 £lOl 4s 3d, rent £5 12s. Sundries: Power lid. Less accounts to pass £3103 2s fund £6 13s 4d, loan advances £3 13s Cd. Credit £789 lis 2d.
