Dr. M. H. Watt, Director-General ol" Health, paid a visit to Stratford this morning and inspected the hospital
The death of the Earl of Kerry resulted when he fell from a tube train at Regent's Park, stales a London cable.
The resignation of Cr. L. Butler from the mglewood Borough Council owing to pressure of business was received at the last meeting of the council.
Mr Joseph P. Kelly, who lived in Taranaki and married Miss Ellen Savage, Stratford, when a young man, died in Auckland at the age of 04 years. Well known as the manager of various farms owned by Mr. G. Bayly at Toko and Mckoia, Mr Kelly was later in charge of stations at Wharepapa and Dargaville. He also nianagtd the stud stock section of Mr Alma Baker's property at Port Waikato. For the past two years MiKelly had been in business at Wellsford and Maungaturoto.
The death occurred yesterday of Mr W. A. Harrison, of Barrett Street, Westown. Born 70 years ago at Omata, he was the sixth son of Thomas and Mary Harrison, who were two of the earliest families in Taranaki. The former arrived in tha William Bryan and the latter in the Amelia Thompson. Mr Harrison for a number of years was engaged in farming at Omata and Oakura, and later lived in the Rahotu and Tanki districts.
