SCHOOL DENTAL CLINIC
o Stratford Sets Bad Example COUNTRY~DISTRICTS’ SUPPORT The matter of outstanding dental fees was ■ a matter discussed gt $ special meeting of the Stratford Primary School Committee last nightj Mr. J. Morrison presided. At a recent meeting it was stated that payments of fees were in advance of those of last year, but it ■was pointed out that this referred to the country districts' support only. A review of the lists shewed a
j large number of fees long overdue, } and these were mainly confined to the i parents of the town, whose children ! received treatment while the statej ments of receipts showed that the j country districts had excellently sup- | ported the services given by way of i of the dental clinic. From a comparison it was consider-
ed that the town had set a bad example especially as so many pilpils are given treatment. From a close study of the lists the surprising fact was shown that fam-
ilies in straighten circumcthnces, namely the unemployed, have made creditable attempts to meet their obligations while many who were considered to be in more or less,
comfortable positions have failed to respond. As the matter is causing many difficulties in the maintaining of the clinic the committee request , that all possible efforts be made to reduce unsatisfactory figures. ft was resolved that notices be circulated, drawing attention to an appointed date by which payments must be paid, and if a better state of affairs is not then shown it ia possible further action will be, taken.
