SUCCESSFUL CONCERT

Function at Midhirst

A very successful concert was held in the Midhirst Hall on Friday ill aid of thei school committee's funds. The concert was organised by Mr J. Howard.

The splendid response of settlers in the district was commented upon by Mr C. Phillips, chairman of the committee, when, just before' supper was served, ho took the opportunity o£ thanking parents and friends of the school for their support. Mr Phillips went on to say that the entefftainbhs had comlsi to Midhirst that evening from as far away as Hawera, and lie was sure that everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the varied and delightful programme they had provided. George ans Miss Noeline Henward violins and Mr D. Silver piano). music and recitations were given as : follows: Idfra R. Mcßcth, Miss M. Fox, Messrs; B. P. Bellringer. A. Sextus and FryerRaisher (songs). Mr W. Hall (monologue) Mr R. George (instrumental selections from a number of stringed instruments.) After the concert stipper was served, and then the floor was cleared ior dancing to music supplied by the orchestra.
