Wellington, July 18. In an endeavour to show the possibilities of eventually running a New Zealand championship marathon race every year in rotation in different centres, the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association to-night decided to conduct a marathon sometime during the coming track season. Other centres are to be written to advising them of his intention and asking for their support. Dunedin, July IS. It is understood Otago cricket coach, has accepted an offer of an engagement with the Oldham Club, Lancashire League, for the next English cricket season. He will return to Dunedin to fulfil his coaching duties. Wellington, July IS. Practically all the city unemployed relief jobs men were manned at full strength to-day, an authoritative source saying that not more than 20 men refused duty. On behalf of the National Union of Unemployed it was stated that information had been received from the Auckland association to the effect that the strike was a fiasco and that all the men were at work.
