LONG PARACHUTE DROP
Twenty-five Minutes in Air Press Association. —Copyright. Hamilton, July 3. A parachute descent made at Te Aroha yesterday by Mr. J. S. Fraser, a pilot officer, occupied an unusually long time. Mr. Fraser dropped from an aeroplane piloted by Mr. S. J. Blackmore when at a height of 1500 ft. A strong wind carried the parachute skyward and a height of 3000 ft. was reached. Mr. Fraser made desperate efforts to spill the air out of the parachute, and finally he landed after being 25 minutes in making the descent, which usually takes 35 seconds. Mr. Fraser was exhausted from his exertions.
