Tho watersidcrs at a meeting today decided to put into operation a proposal which was the subject of a ballot last month on tho question of more equal distribution of work on the waterfront. The meeting decided to authorise' tho union's representatives on the local disputes committee to negotiate with the employers with a view to inaugurating a suitable scheme. The meeting also decided to take a ballot among the Wellington men on July 14 on the proposal for the formation of a National Union in place of the present Federation cf Unions.
