Berlin, May 11. Unemployed in Germany on May 1 totalled 5,300,000, a decrease of 400,000 in the year. Darwin, May 12. Carl Nauer, a Swiss aviator aged 28 who began a flight to Australia from Zurich on March 9, remaining six weeks at Alorstar, reached Darwin early this afternoon. He intends entering for the Melbourne centenary £IO,OOO air race from London to Melbourne. Sydney, May 12. The final of the public schools* head of the river race on Barwon River today resulted: Wesley College 1, Geelong Grammar School 2, Scotch Colleges 3. Wesley won by half a length. Rugby, May 11. Air-Commodore P. F. M. Feilowes, leader of the Houston Everest flight expedition, and Flight-Lieutenant D. F. Mclntyre, who are flying home to England from Purnia in light planes, reached Constantinople to-day and left later for Sofia. Ashburton, May 12. In the Mr.?Ltrate's Court Bernard Lewis was .uned £4O for selling liquor without a license, this being the third offence. He was allowed a month in which to pay.
