[}i" JOBLIN—MASSEY Dainty tracking and soft colouring "Were the outstanding features of the wedding that took place last Wednesday, May 10, in the Catholic Church, Stratford. The bride was Mary Coleman Dominica, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Massey, and the bridegroom was Mr. Laurence Hugh, second son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Joblin, Wanganui, formerly of Stratford. The nuptial mass was celebrated by lf s ,; Rev. Father Dowling, M.A., rector of , . St. Patrick's College, Silverstrenm. H The bride looked charming and digniIpfled as she entered the church with '{her father. Her gown was of parchW ment silk velvet, fashioned on slim;V fitting lines with lace sleeves, comB ing from a full puff of velvet. The . yoke. neck . was also of lace. The skirt fell in graceful folds to the shoes, also of velvet. The beautifully embroidered veil was a gift from and embroidered by the sisters of the convent and it'was fastened with little clusters of orange blossom and fell in soft flowing lines to form a train. She-carried a sheaf of white chrysan- " themums and maidenhair fern and a beau'tiful string of pearls, the gift of Miss A. Kirkwood. P The bridesmaid, • Miss C. Joblin, Wanganui, sister of the bridegroom. looked charming and provided an effective contrast to the bride. Her frock was of powder blue silk velvet, lightly moulded bodice and long graceful skirt. Three shoulder frills formed the sleeves and her shoes, which matched her frock, were also of velvet. She wore a striking Russian cape of white ostrich feathers, with close- . fitting toque to match and eye veil. '"'She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums, with autumnal .foliage. The bridegroom was attended by Mr T. O.Leary as best man and Mr V. J. Henderson was u'sher. During the ceremony the convent pupils sang, Mr. Baden Bellringer gave a beautiful" rendition of Schubert's "Ave Maria" and Mr. Edmondson presided at the organ, playing the wedding march. As the bridal party left the church they passed under an archway of blue and white ribbons formed by members of the Children of Mary Sodality, to which the bride belonged and was | an active member.

The reception after the ceremony ■was held at the Windsor, where Mr. and Mrs. C. Massey received their guests. Mrs. Massey was gowned in a most becoming frock of violet crinkly crepe, with hat and handbag to correspond. Miss Winifred Joblin, sister of the bridegroom, wore crepe de chine in shades of grey and tomato, with smart hat of grey felt. The guests included Misses Betty "and Eileen Massey, Mr. and Mrs. J.
