CABINET CHANGES

RE-SHUFFLE OF PORTFOLIOS Wellington, May 10. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes announced to-day the Cabinet changes resulting from the visit of himself and the Hon. R. Masters at the World Economic Conference. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates will be acting-Prime Minister. He will also take over the portfolios of External Affairs, Public Trust and Electoral. The Hon. E. A. Ransom will take Rail ways and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Sir Apirana Ngata will be AttorneyGeneral. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe will assume the Department of Industries and Commerce. The Hon. J. Bitchener will become Minister of Education. Mr. Forbes said the date of the next session was contingent upon the return of the delegation. Parliament had voted supply to. the end of October.
