Messrs. C. Atkinson and A. E. Hunter were appointed as the society’s visiting committee for the current month. Shooting Licenses It was stated that to date 28 shooting licenses had been issued for the present season, which opened on May 1, while there was every likelihood that that number would be increased when reports had been forwarded by officers controlling the issue in the surrounding districts. Speaking in reference to the matter, the chairman said lie considered that the figures were up to expectation and that they compared favourably with those of last year. At the conclusion of general business, Mr. T. G. Harle (president of the Ashburton Society) gave an interesting informal address, explaining the work and results of fish research which is being carried out in the South Island.
