SUSPECTED DOPING

LIFE DISQUALIFICATION IMPOSED Melbourne, May 7. The suspected doping of the pony Michael Feeney at Ascot a week ago came to a head yesterday when the owner and trainer, Percy Martel!, was disqualified for life for improper conduct. His brother Leo, who allegedly gave the pony a drink from a bottle prior to his running in the River Handicap, was also found guilty of improper conduct and the stewards will recommend that he be warned off the Ascot course for life. The pony was suspended for twelve months. Marlcll has given notice of appeal .
