THIS MONTH'S BUDGET WELDONS PUBLICATIONS The May number of Weldon's Ladies' Journal contains free patterns of coat and skirt and afternoon dress and a gift book of newest woollies. The fashions include coats and street suits, jacket and dress ensembles, holiday outfit and accessories, tennis outfit, overalls for house and garden, evening dresses, new millinery, special designs for outsizes, latest lingerie and new blouses. In the magazine seclion are novels by Denise Robins and Olive Wadsley and two short stories, one by Phillips Oppenheim. Special features include an interview with Lady Diana Cooper, latest hairdressing, palmistry by Noel Jaqilin, and there are several other interesting sections. Home and homecraft section: Double-spread in colour of loose covers, etc., monogams for working on household linen, handkerchiefs, frocks, ftc.
Weldon's Bazaar of Children's Fashions, May number, contains free patterns of girl's useful coat and beret, 5-6 years, confirmation dress and useful day dress 13-14 years, a gratis transfer for applique and embroidery. The fashions (many in full colour) include coals, coats and skirts, dresses for school, concerts, parties, confirmation, etc., special sets for little girls, bays' wear, new hats, undies, etc., knitted bootees for baby and outfit for doll, cookery- 1" the home section, are brighter bedrooms, some charming ideas for bedspreads. Nurse Vincent writes on "Feeding a Baby of Nine Months Old," and there is a charming complete story, "The Selling of Belinda/' by Gwendoline Artel*. ADVENTURE YARNS The West and Short Stories for mid-March just to hand provide much thrilling matter for those who like their stories well spiced with action and adventure.
