GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF AUSTRALIA

Member of Royal Family Suggested Tress Association. —Copyright. Reed. Today, 2 p.m. London, May 2—The Bishop of Peterborough writing in the Daily Telegraph gives prominence to the report from Australia that Sir Isaac Isaacs may not complete the full term at Government House. In light of this knowledge I gather that strongopinion is forming in Australia in favour of petitioning His Majesty to nominate a member of the Royal Family as a successor. The name of the Earl of Athlone is mentioned. Enquiries in London lead me to believe that the Earl of Athlone is willing if a request is made. In that event Australia will be very fortunate indeed and will be the subject of congratulation and not a little envy of all parts of the Empire.
