RETURN OF FLIERS

NON-STOP RECORD Press Association— Copyright Rugby, May 2 Souadron-Lead-or Gayford and FligbLLieutenant Nicholetts, who won for Britain the world non-stop long-distance record by their 5309 miles flight from Cranwell to Walflsh Bay, reached England to-day, having returned in easy stages. They landed at Farnborough, Hampshire. They were greeted by Lord Londonderry and many officials and friends. The airmen said they knew before starting that they would not reach Capetown. They expected to come down near Walflsh Bay. They then had fourteen gallons of petrol left; 130 gallons would have been required to reach Cape Town. Neither slept during the 57 hours of the flight.
