MEAT MARKET

SMITHFIELD IN ERRATIC CONDITION :j COLD STORAGE STOCK HANDLING METHOD UNCERTAIN T Press Association —Copyright T Reed. To-day, 10.30 a.m. London, Nov. S—Though forward soiling has been improved by the Ottawa agreements to limit imports, the Smithfield market has been thrown into an erratic condition owing to the uncertainty as to how stocks in cold storage will he handled. These may prove a more difficult problem than the new imports. The present stocks in cold store include 750,000 carcases of New Zealand sheep, 350,000 of Australian and a smaller quantity of Patagonian. It is expected the agreements will improve prices for Australian shipments arriving in December and January, which usually are Australia’:; worst months. ,
