GANDHI’S NEW MISSION
SOCIAL MOVEMENT ON BEHALF OF UNTOUCHABLES CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE ON THE WANE v, 7 r RELEASE FROM PRISON FORECASTED Press Association. —Copyright. Reed. To-day, 10 a.m. CALCUTTA, Nov. 8. IN reply to a question in the Legislative Assembly, Hon. H. G. Il Haig set out clearly the Government’s decision to allow Gandhi to carry on from prison his social movement on behalf of the Untouchables and pointed out if Gandhi disassociated himself from the civil disobedience movement all restrictions would end.
Gandhi’s jssnse of a second manifesto appealing to class Hindus to cease the persecution of Untouch, ables and outcasts is interpreted to mean that he is in deadly earnest mean that ho is in deadly earnest and now regards this question as the
mission of his life. Tt is also regarded likely that he will soon make his release possible since there is little likelihood that he will ever again lead the civil disobedience campaign which is decreasing.
