FIRE AT CAMBRIDGE

OLD HOMESTEAD DESTROYED An empty seven-roomed house on the Hamilton Road, Cambridge, just beyond the Borough boundary, was totally, destroyed by a fire late on Saturday evening. The building, which was very old, was owned by Mrs. E. M. Coulter, of Hall Street, Cambridge, and up till recently had been owned and occupied by Mrs E. Kelly and family. The fire being out of the borough boundary the brigade did not attend, and the neighbours who assembled could do nothing to save the house. The building was insured in the Commercial Union Office for £2OO.
