MISSING CAR FOUND

PATROL OFFICER'S CAPTURE Levin, Oct. 15.—A five-seater tourist car, which was taken from Auckland on Monday last, was quickly recovered as the result of a smart piece of work by the Levin patrol officer of the Automobile Association. The number and description of the missing car was handed to the patrol officer by the Levin police on Thursday morning, and that same afternoon when proceeding to Palmerston North on the main Shannon road he passed a car answering to the description near Shannon. After a pursuit of two miles the driver of the missing car was eventually forced.to'stop by a skilful manoeuvre on the part of the officer, who succeeded in obtaining control of the wanted car. He then brought it and the man to Shannon, where the police placed the man under arrest. The car, which was undamaged, has since been railed back to its owner in Auckland.
