Dartnail, Christchurch, and his wife was very seriously injured when they were [struck by a motor vehicle at the corner of Balmoral and Mount Eden Roads shortly after 7 o'clock tonight. Mr. Dartnall received severe head injuries and was dead upon his arrival at the hospital, and Mrs. Dart, nail received head and internal injuries, fractured ribs and a fracture of the left leg. He condition is very serious. Mr. and Mrs. Dartnall, who are both elderly, were at Auckland on a visit to Mr. Dartnall's sister, Mrs. J. Benton, Balmoral Road. He was formerly a well-known business man at Springston, Canterbury. He was aged (bout 80 and his wife's age is over 70. ... .....
