ARAPUNI LEAKAGE

PROGRESS ON COFFER DAM ENGINEER CONFIDENT (Special Service.) HAMILTON, Today.-—Mr. T. Rabone, engineer in charge at Arapuni, declined to enter into a newspaper controversey (with Mr. R. Semple, M.P., when some letters of criticism were referred to him today. "We did not expect to get the coffer dam dry at the first attempt," he said. "We have left off pumping, but are staunching the coffer dam, and making good progress. We expect a certain amount of leakage, but this can be controlled with a small pumping equipment." Mr. Rabone is confident that it will be unnecessary to dewater the headrace.
