UNEMPLOYED TEACHERS
POSITION IN TARANAK! Of; a total of 72 teachers on the hoard's unemployed list, 50 per cent. are now in appointments. It was stated that over halt the probationary assistants appointed for the coming year were being re-appointed to positions they had held during either the first or the second term. It was stated that after all the teachers who were unemployed at the beginning of the year had received a term's work under the rationing scheme, the highest graded on the list had then to be appointed. The opinion was expressed by members thai the grading should not lie the main consideration as the teachers having just come out of training college the grading could be regarded as only temporary.
