While on the way from Daylesforo. to Ballarat, H. Lewis, a diamond merchant, was robbed of £9OOO worth. In South Melbourne two women were robbed of £l6O worth each. In each case masked men presented guns and in the second attack three shots were fired after Miss Eileen Heinze, who was attempting to escape with a bag of diamonds.
