LOWGARTH
The dance held on Monday night 'in aid of he hall funds was a very successful affair. In spite of the stormy night the hall was well filled. The Ambassadors' Band supplied the music. The dance was in full swing,, at 1 a.m. when th e lights fused and still the dance continued with the aid of candles, making a truly old-time dance. Miss E. Richardson played an extra. Messrs. J. Sulzberger and D. Burke made efficient M.C.'s. The members of the Farmers' Union held a debate in the hall on Wednes- ; dity night, ithe gfthject being "Do Pigs Ps4i> \]fi There iwere.-five speakers on each* side and a most entertaining and; amusing evening was spent. There were 22 present. The affirmative side was taken by Messrs. A. T. Sulzberger, A. Pipeii, D. Burke, L. Townsend and P. Wjillan. The negative speakers were Messrs. A. 0, Ricketts, S. Laurence* W. Richardson, H. Shrimpton and W. Tobeck. At a vote taken the affirmation won by 15 votes to 7.
