TERRITORIAL TRAINING
TOKO SIGNALLING GROUP
The Toko signalling group has just completed a week’s course of special training under Lieut. P. Davis, N.Z.S.C., of the headquarters instnictional staff. Next week the signallers will fire off for the annual regimental championship and classification badges on Mr. Sangster’s property, which has been kindly lent for the occasion.
The Stratford Service Club is now well established and keen interest has been shown in its various activities. The opportunities for physical j recreation and development have j been fully availed of by the mem. j hors of the . local platoon. Various touvnamaiits are being conducted and farther interest has been created by a basketball challenge received from the Hawera and New Plvm,ovith Service Clubs. All tbe officers and n.e.o.’s and quite 50 per cent, of the machine gunners are members of the Stratford Mountain Club, and it is pr;~nosed to include amongst the subjects of lectures a lecture on mountain craft. An endeavour will shortly be made fe form a Territorials’ Association. All ex-territorials will be asked to hand together to flrrm an association to keep alive the territorial spirit, to promote social activities among the members, and to assist generally in the promotion of recruiting under the present territorial system. At tlm initial meeting various cups w~n at camp and 'lnviug the year will be presented. Matov A. B. Conwa\. N.Z.P.C,, staff officer in.
