CANDIDATE NOT ALLOWED TO STAND SOUTHERN MAORI SEAT i ' To-day—The official'Labour candidate for the Southern Maori seat, Hart 'Wi Katene, has not been allowed to stand, his nomination paper being refused by the returning officer on the grounds that it is understood he is a European, having been so declared in 1917.
