WESTPORT, Today—The third day of the conference between the coal owners and representatives of the West Crast miners’ organisations commenced this morning. A number of clauses in the new agreement were satisfactorily settled and it is expected that today the owners will submit proposals on others to Which the union's will no doubt present ccunter proposals. It is not ox. pected the conference will end today, but a conciliatory atmosphere prevails. Both owners and miners’ representatives are of opinion there is no danger of a deadlock and a satisfactory agreement will be the critcome.
