Mrs. J. Morrison, Percy Avenue, is an inmate of Marirc Private Hospital.
Mrs. Harley Brown, who has been visiting Mrs. R. V. Kay, has returned to her home in Wadestown, Wellington.
Mr. Joseph Beaton, Pallia, will contest Ihe Southern Maori seat as an
Independent Coalitionist, at the request of Colac and Wakapatu Natives,
Mr. Harry Atmore, M.B. (’Nelsbn) and Mr J. R. Corrigan (Hawera) will visit Stratford next week to speak on “Currency Reform.”
Mr. J. S. Jessup, acting.chalrnian of the Unemployment Board, who is visiting Taranaki, will bo in Strut, ford tomorrow and will meet a deputation from the local unemployed.
After 26 years’ service Mr. J. R. Sutherland has tendered his resignation from the post of foreman of the Wanganui Harbour Board, to take effect at the end of the year. He is to retire on superannuation.
Mr. Samuel Ritchie, of Wellington, has been appointed an additional Conciliation Commissioner, is at present practising as a barrister and solicitor in Invrcargill. As a young man in Dunedin he associated himself closely with the Labour movement, and this, together with the wide legal knowledge he has subsequently gained, has fitted him for his new appointment. Before he took up law he was a saddler.
