"NATIONAL SELFSACRIFICE

LORD STONEHAVEN SPEAKS A LESSON FOR BRITAIN Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, Tuesday. Lord Stonehaven, in a lively address at the Authors' Club, on Imperial problems, emphasised there the new orientation of Australia and the realisation by the average man and woman that Australia, of recent years, had been living in a false paradise. "As an Englishman, I can only pray that the same realisation will come here," he said. "The particular type of difficulty Britain is facing is most, pronounced in those parts of the Empire where Parliament has taken the biggest hand in interfering with the lives of the people," the speaker continued. "When I returned from Australia in December it was perfectly obvious that we were following the straight down road which landed Australia in a mess, but she has shown amazing capacity for pulling herself together. She has displayed a antional selfsacrifice which Britain may well copy when seeking a way out of the existing troubles."
