BROADCASTING

NOTES ON PROGRAMMES 'The Auckland Orphans' Club orchestra, under Mr. Harold Baxter, will provide a studio concert for IYA this evening. With baritone solos by Mr. Stan Pritchard, humour from Mr. Tom Harris, and a number of specially selected recordings, a very attractive programme can be expected. The new international programme from 2YA this evening will feature "The Vitaphone Orchestra," "The Old Whittler," "The Flying Squad," ron," "The Mirth Quakers" and "Whispers." Dr. Guy H. Scholefleld Will be the speaker. The Melodious Quartette and Madame Gowei* Burns (soprano) will provide the Vocal portion of 3YA's musical programme, which will be of an operatic-classical nature. Pianoforte solos will be contributed by Miss Aileen Warren and a 'cello solo by Mr. Harold Beck. The Studio Octet will present an attractive Orchestral programme. During the evening Mr. Te Ari Pitama will give a talk oil "The South Island Maori." 4YA will be relaying from the Early Settlers' Hall a concert to be given by the Burns Club.
