ST. ANDREW’S CONCERT
BIBLE CLASS GIRLS’ EFFORT FUNDS FOR HAWKE'S BAY MISSIONS , .! Under the supervision of Miss Lilley, the girls of St. Andrew’s Junior Bible Class held a most successful entertainment in St. Andrew’s Hall last evening. The concert was well patronised, making the function a success both socially and financially,' the proceeds from which are to be devoted*’to the Hawke’s Bay Home Missionaries’ Fund. Mr. P. Aitken occupied the" chair. He thanked the audience for their attendance and interest in a worthy cause. The following programme was submitted: — Pianoforte solo, Miss M. Brown; vocal solo, Miss K. Allen; play, “House Agents,” Misses Marjorie Young, Margaret Phillips and Maisie Smart: instrumental trio, Mrs. Masters :(piano), Miss (mandoline) a*id Mr. Simpson (violin); song, Mr. Sextus; song, Mr. Aitken; cornet solo, Mr. Elliott; pianoforte solo, Miss M. Brown; mandolin solo, Miss Buchanan; song, Mrs. S. Robinson; play, “Medicine Shelf,” by Misses N. Lawrence, L. Wickham, C. ‘ Whittlestone, Elsie Wendleborn and D. Lilley. Mrs. M. T. Phillips coached the young folks for the plays and her services were very much appreciated. Mrs. A. R. Masters was accompanist. Apologies were received from several artists who were unavoidably absent through illness.
