"A LADY TO LOVE” Vilma Banky will make her first full-length talking screen appearance at the King’s Theatre to-night in ‘‘A Lady to Love.” The services of the Hungarian star were secured by Metro-Qoldwyn-Mayer because of the fact that she was eminently suited to the role ol Lena, the waitress who married a 50-year-old Italian because she wanted a home, and then regretted it when she fell in love with her husband’s young and good-looking Irish assistant. A unique feature of the picture is that its cast is one of the most cosmopolitan ever gathered together for one production. Miss Banky is Hungarian; Seastrom, the director, is Swedish; Edward G. Robinson, who has the role of (ho Italian Tony, was born in Bucharest, Rumania; George Davis is a native of Belgium; Gum Chin, the comic codk, first saw light of day in Canton, China; Harry Bucquet, assistant-director, is an Englishman: Robert Ames, Lloyd Ingraham, Richard Carle and Anderson Lawler are Americans. The only real Italian in the entire cast is Henry Armetta.
