notes on programmes A combination new to listeners will be heard from, IT A this evening. it will be the Auckland Tramways Male Choir, consisting of about thirty voices, trained by Mr. Duncan Black, the well-known basso. Tne choir will sing several male partsongs and should delight IYA listeners with their splendid concerted work. There will be solos by Mr. Duncan Black. The Monte Carlo Orchestra under the direction oT Mr. F. K, Cunningham will contribute to the programme, and a “Topical Talk will be given by Mr. A. B. Chappell, M.A. . 2YA will l)o broadcasting the next instalment of the overseas recorded programmes. At !• o’clock Dr. Guy H. Scholefield, 0.8. D., will give a talk on “Matters of International Interest.” The evening’s entertainment will also include a session of international dance music from electiical recordings. HYA’b .miscellaneous programme will be contributed by a variety of entertainersI—Mr. 1 —Mr. Lyndon ouristie (saxaphonist, with piano accompaniment by Miss Clive Winston), Mrs. F. Nelson Kerr (contralto), Mr. H. Blakely (tenor), The Mascots (sketch artists), and the Studio Octet. It will l)e a very popular programme. The glory of Russian composers will be brought back to lisleners-iu to 4YA this evening, by the items to be played by the Studio Trio. Needless to say, Tschaikowsky is represented on this programme and among the others are such brrilliant men as Sibelius, Arensky and Barmotin. The majority of the items to be played will be (be lighter works by these composers. #*■
