Mr, H. V. Griffiths, Mayor of New Plymouth, was a visitor to Stratford today. Warrant-Officer J. Oliphaut Rowe has returned from Napier for a few days’ holiday. Mr. Lindsay McCluggage, who has been on an extended holiday in Stratford, left by the mail train this morning on his return to the Malay States. Mr. H. L. S. Havyatt, a New Zealand solicitor, was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales recently under the reciprocal agreement which has been completed between New Zealand and New South Wales. The Chief Justice, Sir P. W. Street, expressed his gratification that such an arrangement had been made. Mr. Havyatt was formerly practising in Hawera.
