In one letter Maeey.had stated that he was.getting desperate, and it was evident that the man was not mentally capable or persisted in worrying the young lady. The girl in consequence was uptfet a'hd suffered m hearth' and' was liable to a hdrvtftts breakdown. 'The father and brother of the''informant also gaVe" evidence,' stating (hat Macey has caused considerable upset by'his- attention's,'arid that he had been wa'rned to keep 1 away. Despite this he still paid attention to the girl, and did not seem (o realise his position,' or retirse'd to do' so. Macey Said that he had been advised byi friends to go to the girl and ascertain if she laved him. He admitted having been told by the police to keep away, and in future would do so, as he' knew now he was . not wanted.

The Bench, in pointing out the seriousness of the offence, hound Macey over to k'eep, the peace, ip one surety of £26. Tie was also ordered* to pay £2 2s solicitor's fee and court costs 17s. Fourteen days were allowed in which to" pay.
